ADE

Meet Ade

Ade is a young girl who was born with severe spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy.  Her mom is Ade's primary caregiver and as Ade continues to grow, she is getting harder to carry up and down the stairs.  In order to make this home accessible for Ade a stairlift was installed at a cost of over $13,000. The Children's Ability Fund is pleased to have contributed $10,000 to help keep Ade and her mother safe with these transfers.

The Stair lift addition to our house has been an absolute life saver and has made things so much easier for Ade and me. She truly appreciates being able to have easy access to both floors of our home and is now able to get between her room, upstairs, and the living room area downstairs without the fear of us falling as I carry her between the two floors. It also means that as Ade is getting bigger, taller and tougher to carry, I am able to save my back and my daughter from undue injury. None of which would have been possible without the generous funding that The Children’s Ability Fund has provided to our family. Thank you for your assistance for which we are truly grateful. I have attached a photo of Ade and her sister in the lift. It’s hard to catch Ade at the right time but I hope you can appreciate the thrill she gets at having access to such a handy piece of equipment.
