Colby was born with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Although he is unable to walk or talk, he is a happy social boy. Lifting Colby in and out of his wheelchair and transferring him into the family vehicle was becoming a daily struggle for his mother who suffers from chronic neck and back pain and debilitating migraines which can last for days.
“Just wanted to drop you a note and say we just got the new seat put in our van. Colby thinks it’s pretty neat! Darrel and I wanted to say thank you and everyone at the Children’s Ability Fund for helping our family. I am getting all choked up just writing you this note. I am not sure if you realize how much we appreciate it, everyday is such a struggle. I don’t think people realize just doing the day to day things can be overwhelming. Getting in and out of the vehicle 4 – 6 times a day is exhausting! This will be a huge help for us! Have a super day, - Kim”
